Falcons Junior
The 2008-2009 Falcons Junior 'A' team plays in the nationally recognized Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL).
The EJHL is a USA Hockey Junior 'A' league and is the highest USA Hockey Junior league in New England.
The New England Falcons have won four Eastern Junior Hockey League championships (1996, 1997, 1998, 2000).
The EJHL Champion wins the "Dineen Cup", named after Gary Dineen, this organizations founder.
Vern Smith takes over as the new GM/Coach of the EJHL Junior 'A' team. Growing up in Lethbridge, Alberta, Vern played in the Western Hockey League and in 1982 was drafted in the second round by the New York Islanders. He played several professional seasons in the AHL, IHL and NHL, starting with our AHL affiliate Springfield. After injuries forced retirement, he kept involved in hockey by coaching in the area. While playing experience is notable, Vern has over 18 years of coaching experience, and has advanced several players onto higher levels in the college and professional ranks. In 2000, Vern coached with friend and fellow Canadian Gary Dineen and won the Dineen Cup awarded to EJHL champions.
Vern has assembled an experienced staff to assist him. Each one has a proven track record of developing several players on to the college and professional ranks.
